William is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist - Supervisor, and is the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of NOVUS Mindful Life Institute, which helps individuals affected by sex addiction. He has been providing psychotherapy through his private practice since 2003. He also is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (C.S.A.T.) and C.S.A.T. Supervisor, and a Certified Connections Facilitator (C.C.F.) (candidate). Prior to NOVUS and his private practice, he had a long history of working in the field of mental health. William specializes in the treatment of both sex addiction and childhood trauma. In most cases, the root of addiction lies in some form of trauma. I like to help my clients understand this connection at a very deep level, then help them heal, which also helps them get greater traction in their addiction recovery. William was trained by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D., author of Out of the Shadows, by Pia Mellody, author of Facing Codependence, and by Bren Brown, author of Daring Greatly. He is an Adjunct Professor for the School of Social Work at the University of Southern California, teaching graduate students social work practice. He also is a Doctor of Social Work (D.S.W.) candidate for 2016.
