When others see my background there is usually a judgment toward my approach to marriage and general therapy since I was a minister for 21 years and hold an earned Master of Theology. My position is always about my clients, how do I empower them to self-determination? Those seeking help come across my profile usually find something that "clicks". To me, that's all that matters. If we don't "click" after our first session, I work to help them find someone with whom they can click or feel connected.
I love Cognitive Behaivoral Therapy and use CBT in some form whether marriage counseling, emotional/behavioral therapy, or working with children. I also seek to include other methods because helping my clients is my goal...to work myself out of a job, so to speak. I work with children age 8 or 9 and up, teenagers, young adults, men, women, veterans, seriously mentally ill, or anyone who desires to see me for whatever reason.
