Sam Menahem
About
Dr. Menahem received his Master's degree from Columbia University in 1972 and his Ph.D. from United States International University in 1976.
His experience at USIU's School of Human Behavior stimulated his interest in humanistic and transpersonal psychology, he became interested in hypnosis and meditation and how they may be integrated with psychotherapy. He was trained in traditionally hypnosis and Ericksonian hypnosis, graduation from the New York Society for Ericksonian psychotherapy and Hypnosis program in 1992.
Dr. Menahem is on the faculty of Columbia University as an adjunct assistant professor of psychology. His interest in meditation and healing has been advanced by study with Joyce Goodrich, Ph.D. on the Le Shan methods of meditation. He is the founder of the Center for Psychotherapy and Spiritual Growth in Fort Lee, NJ and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology and Education at Columbia University, where he teaches a course in non-traditional psychology. This course integrates all his interests in meditation, hypnosis and spiritual psychology.
He is a firm believer in the importance of play and humor in life. Thus, he is a Marxist (Groucho) and was a little league manager.
