Trained in Family Therapy at USC and mentored by Dr. David Viscott for the first 1o years of my career, my work is based on the clinical model of brief psychotherapy. I encourage recording sessions on cell phone audio apps because my belief is that when a client at least listens one more time to their session, they also experience the added dimension of hearing themselves process. When a client has time for homework, we use the recordings in the service of that exploration in beween sessions to gain the maximum benefit from the work. In this way, a client, if they are serious about moving forward, can use a one hour session for many hours of depth work. Often this method allows people to attend sessions less often than once per week.
