There is an idea from the Jewish tradition that says that ever since God completed creation, the rest of time has been spent making matches, and because God has been making matches, each relationship has a little bit of the divine in it. From nearly 20 years of working with couples, I do believe there is something sacred in relationships - some spark of something wonderful in each couple that makes the world brighter. But when our relationships struggle, we struggle - never have I met a person whose relationship has struggled that has felt like every other aspect of their life is perfect. I work with couples to understand what makes their relationship special and unique in the world, and then help them use that understanding to find their magic and get back to feeling supported and strong in their relationship and out in the world.To get technical, my approach is both psychodynamic and emotionally focused (think a combination of logic and touchy-feely). I have been officiating weddings for 20 years, and have been working as a couples therapist specializing in premarital counseling and honeymoon years counseling for five years.
