Laurie Budlong-Morse
Laurie Budlong-Morse, LMFT Marriage & Family Therapist | Claimed
About
My approach to couples therapy is practical, conversational, and primarily present-focused. I see my primary role as a couples therapist as helping to facilitate useful conversations between you and your partner. I work collaboratively with you to identify strengths in your relationship that we can build on as well as to identify challenges and pathways to navigating these challenges. I thrive in supporting couples with complex relationship issues that may lie outside of more commonly-experienced relationship concerns. In addition to couples counseling, I offer discernment counseling for couples exploring separation or divorce.
My work is heavily informed by Family Systems (which focuses on patterns of interaction), Gottman Method (which draws from decades of research), and Collaborative Therapy (which focuses on how we make meaning as well as bridging differences in conversations).
