We are often told that we need to be islands. We need to be able to get through even the toughest of experiences on our own. I am here to remind you that we are human beings and at the deepest core of our needs is emotional connection. For us to be truly autonomous we also need that place where we can be vulnerable. That place where we can show the “ugly” part of ourselves and truly be accepted despite that ugliness. I believe in the power of a loving connection and the healing that comes from a relationship accepting of true vulnerability and understanding.
