Kaila Boudewyn
About
I work with children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, past abuse, loss, and attachment disorders. I also work with individuals looking for help with personal growth, stress management, self-esteem challenges, grief, and pandemic related stressors. All of these issues can put strain on relationships and make trusing and connecting diffucult. I work with individuals to help repair the ability for trust and connection. I use a holistic approach to treatment, which means looking at all the different elements of an individual's life and emotional functioning. Treatment starts by building the strengths needed to create stability and control in the present, and then digging deeper to create genuine healing around the underlying root(s) of the present challenges.
As a counselor, I believe in empowering my clients towards a resilient and shame-free life. This means developing insight into personal challenges and patterns, learning tools to regulate emotions and behaviors, establishing positive communication skills, processing lingering pain, and learning how to care for the self more responsibly.
Successful therapy means first developing a relationship of safety and trust. Everyone deserves a compassionate ear and a soft place to heal. Life can be extraordinarily hard sometimes. If you're struggling, you don't have to do it alone.
