About
Fulfilling couple relationships require the development of couple skills versus individual skills. If both members are willing to address two questions then couple therapy can be very useful: What did I do to contribute to the problem & what can I do to make it better? Often marriage counseling is assisting the couple in utilizing individual strengths to develop couple skills. My bias is that the relationship must be fulfilling enough for both people to be worth the hassle of marriage--and all marriages are a hassle to some degree occasionally. It is also a prime opportunity to grow as persons in ways not possible alone.
