I try to meet my clients where they are at from a pyscho/emotional/spiritual perspective. My goal as a therapist is to connect with the client, develop some trust and identify the problem(s). I don't find it useful to spend much time on blaming, but rather to help them forgive one another and create a vision together for how they want their relationship to function. We then walk backwards from that to figure how to reach that vision they've created so as to develop an approach that moving forward provides them the opportunities to reach their goal.
