About
Let’s face it, relationships take work! However, a relationship should not be all work with no reward. There needs to be a healthy balance between enjoying each other and putting in extra effort to resolve conflicts when they occur.
Have you ever found yourself upset with your partner for something you assumed they would or would not do? You did not clearly tell them what you did or did not want but because they are your partner they ought to know what you need, right?
Maybe the responsibilities of the household fall on one person which has caused built up anger and resentment. Yet, instead of sharing those feelings of anger and resentment the person ignores them and pretends like everything is fine...until it’s not.
In therapy, I will teach you and your partner communication skills so that you are both able to clearly tell each other your expectations.
I will also teach skills on how to be a good listener so you both are able to really hear and validate what your partner is saying and feeling.
We will also explore conflict resolution skills. It is possible to get your message across without name calling, belittling, and guilt tripping one another. It is also possible to have a disagreement without it turning into a full blown fight.
Conflict does not have to equal discord. If you and your partner are ready to better your relationship by learning better communciation, learning how to meet each other's emotional needs, and resolving conflict in a healthy way then contact me to get started. Your marriage is worth the investment!
