About
I guide couples to transform harmful patterns to loving gestures, learn to speak the truth, develop healthy patterns of relating, improve sex, adjust to new parenthood, and breathe life into their joint vision of life together. My approach is rooted in identifying and building on your strenghts and resilience, examining inherited behavior and reactions from family of origin, facilitating clear and improved communication, and healing past relationship wounds. We all have ways that we attempt to get our needs met, our message across, and our sense of wellness established - often these ways can cause harm and distress in our relationship. Couples counseling offers a space to explore interpersonal patterns, individual styles of self-protection and adaptation, and build new habits that lead to greater enjoyment, joy, connection, and calm. I integrate attachment, emotionally-focused therapy, the Gottman method, somatic trauma resolution and grounding, and attention to cultural differences and dynamics of privilege/oppression. We all need safe spaces to feel our feelings, shine a light on our fears and wounds, and speak our deepest truth. Reach out if you are interested in getting support!
