Ben Schultz
About
My name is Ben Schultz and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist currently taking clients that live in either Texas or California. I work primarily from a Gestalt and Humanistic perspective. This means I do not pretend I am an expert on your life. I don't tell people what I think they should do, so that I don't convince people they are not capable of enacting real change in their life. I also work in the 'here and now', meaning I don't just sit there listening to people go on and on forever about past experiences. Rather, I actively work to foster an environment where context, i.e. the present moment, helps you find meaning in your experience so you can move on from these unfinished experiences. I don't like to waste time in therapy, so I aim to be as authentic as I can be in order to be an actual agent of change for you. I will utilize tools from other orientations like CBT and ACT, though I aim to provide an integrative approach as opposed to an eclectic approach without cohesion. If you're ready to get to work, don't hesitate to reach out.
